RCA Abrasion Wear Paper

RCA Abrasion Wear Paper

Use with the authentic Norman Tool RCA Abrader

The authentic RCA Abrasion Wear Paper is produced in the United States. It is manufactured with consistent abrasion quality. Each batch of paper is tested at the paper mill as well as at the paper conversion facility. Each box of paper is supplied with “Certificate of Designation and Quality” which designates the lot number as well as the tested abrasion factor. All lot numbers can be submitted to Norman Tool through our product registration webpage to determine if the paper is authentic RCA wear paper.

Norman Tool abrasion wear paper has been used successfully for years to apply accelerated wear testing to product samples. Our standard paper has tightly controlled specifications and abrasion level of each lot of paper is certified within Norman Tool. At the very outset of the development in the 1960’s, customers used 11/16” wide paper, and ¼” wide polyester tape. The 11/16” wide paper became the standard.

RCA Wear Paper Steps

Method to Apply Paper Factor

Steps

  1. Test and read cycle count from the tester machine.
  2. Multiply cycle count by the factor
  3. Record the result as the True Cycle Count
Example:

Lot Number A4-24135-0.9 Factor 0.9

The “Certificate of Designation and Quality” notes the factor as 0.9

Tested Cycle Count from the machine = 50 cycles

Calculation: 50 cycles x 0.9 = 45

We record the True Cycle Count as 45 true cycles

A paper factor of 1.0 will require no calculation. A paper factor of 1.1 will require a calculation of multiplying by 1.1. These instructions are also listed on the “Certificate of Designation and Quality” which is supplied with each case of paper.

Please contact us if there are any questions or submit your lot number on our Product Registration Page to ensure that you have received authentic Norman Tool RCA Abrasion Wear Paper.
